Full job description

Based near Haverhill in Suffolk, Field Compost Ltd are a family run business producing high quality peat free composts, topsoils, and mulch products.

We are wanting to recruit a hardworking reliable person to join our small production team. We are looking to expand to include a second bagging line during 2026. This is an exciting role that would suit someone who likes responsibility. Start January/February.

The Role

· Working as part of a friendly team on the existing process and bagging line;

· Role includes screening/blending growing media products and operating the bagging line/palletiser and wrapper.

· Involves manual work and occasional heavy lifting.

The Job

· Operating small loaders and counterbalance forklifts;

· Operating screening plants and bagging line;

· Loading lorries;

· General maintenance of machines;

· Additional tasks when required.

A certificate to operate forklifts and loaders is advantageous but training will be given.

Requirements

· A good work ethic, reliable and punctual;

· Willingness to work as part of a small team;

· Self-motivated, able to organise the workload and conscientious;

· Able to communicate at all levels.

The hours are Monday to Friday 6:30am – 4:30pm. 7:30am – 4:30pm during the winter months. Overtime is available during the busy periods.

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must be able to speak English, with an accurate work history where references can be requested. Driving licence required due to location.
