Bradley David Associates is working with our client on the search for a Designer (POS / Retail Displays).

Location: Brentwood area, Essex
Salary: Up to £45,000 (depending on experience)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a UK manufacturer specialising in the design and production of high-quality Point of Sale (POS) displays and retail solutions. With decades of industry experience, they partner with a wide range of leading retail and consumer brands, delivering innovative display solutions from concept through to manufacture and installation.

Operating from a fully equipped manufacturing facility near Brentwood, Essex, the business offers complete in-house capabilities, including CNC machining, woodworking, acrylic fabrication, metalwork, laser cutting, injection moulding, screen printing and final assembly.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Designer to join their established in-house design team.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded designer who enjoys seeing projects through from initial concept to finished product. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for transforming client briefs into practical, production-ready retail display solutions.

You'll collaborate closely with Project Managers, Production and Manufacturing teams to ensure designs are innovative, commercially viable and suitable for manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation using SolidWorks
  • Design innovative POS displays, retail fixtures and promotional units
  • Interpret customer briefs and develop practical, cost-effective design solutions
  • Work closely with Project Managers and production teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Specify suitable materials including timber, acrylic, plastics and metal
  • Provide technical support during manufacture and resolve any production-related design issues
  • Support prototype development and continuous product improvement
  • Ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience within the POS, retail display or related manufacturing industry
  • Strong SolidWorks CAD experience
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of artwork preparation or experience working alongside artwork teams (advantageous)
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials including timber, plastics and metal
  • The ability to produce accurate manufacturing and technical drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Product Design, Engineering or a related discipline (preferred)

Senior Designer Opportunity

Applications are also welcomed from experienced Senior Designers who can demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 8 years' experience within the Point of Sale (POS) industry
  • Proven experience designing retail display solutions from concept through to manufacture
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • The ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Salary: Up to £45,000, depending on experience.
