Full job description

Job Title: Training Programme Coordinator

Location

Hybrid / On-site (regular attendance at in-person training venues required)

Contract Type

Fixed term - expected minimum duration 12 months, may be extended as business needs dictate

Salary

£26,000 per annum.

Role Purpose

As a leading provider of specialist rail training, the Chartered Institution of Railway Operators (CIRO) is excited to have been appointed as the delivery organisation for the rail industry’s Traincrew Management Training.

The Training Programme Coordinator will provide day-to-day coordination and administrative support to the delivery of this externally commissioned training programme. The role will support planning, logistics, training delivery, quality assurance, and evaluation activities, working closely with internal colleagues, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and client stakeholders.

This role is suited to someone highly organised who enjoys supporting training delivery and ensuring programmes run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Resource and Logistical Support

  • Support the onboarding of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) through CIRO’s onboarding process
  • Assist with organising venue hire and ensuring venues meet cohort requirements
  • Coordinate training schedules, room bookings, materials, and resources
  • Maintain accurate records related to assessments, training plans, and delivery documentation
  • Support the mapping of training content to CIRO’s framework

Training Delivery Support

Support SMEs with preparation for delivery, including coordinating content reviews

  • Assist with arranging SME shadowing of the first cohorts
  • Provide on-site, in-person support during training sessions as required
  • Act as a point of contact for participants during delivery
  • Support the administration of competency and knowledge assessments

Assurance Support

  • Assist with quality assurance checks to ensure training materials and delivery align with learning objectives
  • Collate QA feedback and highlight any issues to the Programme Lead
  • Support consistency across cohorts by maintaining up-to-date materials and guidance

Evaluation and Reporting Support

  • Coordinate post-training surveys and feedback collection
  • Support collation and analysis of evaluation data
  • Assist with SME and internal team evaluations of phase 1 delivery
  • Help prepare documentation and materials to support handover into Phase 2

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience in a coordination, project support, or training administration role
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with a range of stakeholders
  • Comfortable supporting in-person training delivery

Desirable

  • Experience supporting training or learning programmes
  • Experience working with SMEs, trainers, or facilitators
  • Familiarity with training frameworks, competency models, or funded programmes
  • Experience collecting and analysing feedback or evaluation data
