Youth Homelesness Helpline and Early Intervention and Prevention Project Manager - job post
Location
Full job description
To oversee all aspects of service delivery. To ensure the highest possible service is provided to all individuals supported, funders & partnership agencies.
The main body of the role would be the management of the 24 Hour Helpline. As Projects Manager for the Youth Homelessness Helpline, you will lead the delivery of an out-of-hours helpline supporting vulnerable individuals across Wales. This role involves overseeing the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of a dedicated volunteer team, as well as managing a 365-day rota and on-call schedule. You will be responsible for programming and maintaining the telephone system, managing payroll, and producing monthly monitoring and quarterly performance reports. Working in close partnership with Shelter Cymru and early intervention and prevention services, you will ensure seamless collaboration and service delivery. Additionally, you will drive the continued promotion and development of the helpline, attend events to recruit volunteers, and maintain high standards of operational efficiency and volunteer engagement.
In addition to this, you will be supporting teams to deliver Early Intervention and Homelessness Prevention Services to vulnerable individuals aged 14 to 25
Please note that the successful applicant to this vacancy will be subject to clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
At Llamau we believe that no young person or vulnerable woman should ever have to experience homelessness. Our mission is to eradicate homelessness for young people and vulnerable women. But for thousands of the most vulnerable people in Wales, homelessness is a frightening reality.
30 years ago Llamau was founded to provide homeless teenagers with a safe place to stay. Since then, we have supported over 67,000 young people, women and their children who are either homeless or facing homelessness.
Many people think the job of a homelessness charity will be to provide accommodation - a safe place to stay. But it is very clear to us that for most people who are facing homelessness, their problems are far more complex than a lack of permanent shelter.
That's why we treat everyone who needs our support as an individual. We recognise their unique strengths and needs and make sure that they are supported to rebuild their futures.
