Full job description

Closing date: 26th July 2026

Shortlisting to commence: 27th July 2026

Interviews to take place: W/C 3rd August 2026

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join the Clinical Health Psychology Department within Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHFT).

Over the last 25 years the Clinical Health Psychology Department at BTHFT has grown to include Clinical Psychologists, Counsellors and Health Psychologists covering a wide range of physical health conditions.

We have an excellent reputation for the services we offer, and place a high value on continuing professional development and personal support. We regularly take trainees from the D. Clin. Psych. Course at Leeds.

Bradford is a diverse and interesting community in which to work, combining an urban centre with close proximity to the Yorkshire Dales.

We provide a range of services to adults under the care of different physical health specialties. This post will input into the Neuropsychology Service, and involve completing cognitive assessments, making recommendations in relation to cognitive rehabilitation, and where possible providing psychological support to people with a range of neurological conditions under the supervision of Clinical Psychologists, a Clinical Neuropsychologist and a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist. The role will also involve input into tasks relevant to promoting service quality and development.

Our People Charter outlines the behaviours we can expect from one another and what you can expect from Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust:

We value people

We are one team

We care

We’re keen to meet people who share these values and are passionate about delivering the highest quality of care to our patients.

To undertake cognitive assessments with adults with a broad range of neurological conditions.

To provide individualised support and guidance to people with a range of neurological conditions. This might include recommendations relating to cognitive rehabilitation or other psychological interventions (e.g. cognitive behavioural therapy).

To participate in Neuropsychology service meetings alongside colleagues who provide input into the Community Brain Injury Team and Epilepsy Service to support development of the Neuropsychology service more broadly.

To perform service development and evaluation activities associated with the Neuropsychology service.

The post holder will work independently according to a plan agreed with their supervisor and within the overall framework of the Clinical Health Psychology Department’s policies and procedures.
