We take an innovative approach to the delivery of our services and ensure that they are of the highest standards in the industry.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Psychology Triage Assistant to join our team at Psicon. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting psychological services and contributing to high-quality care for adults, children, and young people. Principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Support the safe, effective and timely triage of neurodevelopmental referrals across relevant services and NHS-commissioned pathways.
  • Review referral information against pathway criteria, identify gaps and escalate clinical risk, safeguarding concerns, urgent presentations or out-of-scope referrals appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, update electronic systems and produce clear reports in line with professional standards and service protocols.
  • Liaise sensitively with clients, families, carers, schools and professionals to support a holistic approach to care.
  • Contribute to clinical meetings, audit, outcome monitoring, literature searches and service improvement activities.
  • Provide competent clinical administrative support and contribute to the smooth running of Psicon.

Person specification

  • Essential: An undergraduate Psychology degree conferring Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society, or eligibility to obtain it.
  • Knowledge of autism and ADHD across the lifespan, with an understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, consent, clinical risk and professional boundaries.
  • Experience in a health, social care, education or similar setting involving contact with clients or families.
  • Clear, compassionate communication; strong organisation and attention to detail; and the ability to gather, review and summarise information accurately.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning electronic clinical record systems, with the ability to work collaboratively, follow direction and use supervision effectively.
  • A commitment to person-centred, neuro-affirmative and inclusive practice, continuous learning and Psicon’s values.

Desirable: Experience of neurodevelopmental services, referral screening, structured information gathering, safeguarding procedures, audit, data collection or report preparation.

  • Further relevant psychology training, evidence of continuing professional development, and an interest in a career in psychology or neurodevelopmental services.
