Intern - Climate and Environment

Job description
Are you passionate about tackling climate change and protecting nature? Do you enjoy problem-solving, working with data, and collaborating across teams to make a real impact? We’re looking for an enthusiastic intern to help shape how we monitor and report on our ambitious Climate and Nature Strategy 2026–2030.

This internship will run from from Monday 15th June to Friday 4th September and will be located at our head office in Cambourne, Cambridgeshire.

What You'll Do:
  • Work with the Climate and Environment team and colleagues across the Council to design effective ways to track progress against the strategy’s Action Plan.
  • Develop templates for monitoring new actions introduced in the 2026–2030 strategy.
  • Explore and propose solutions for creating a dashboard to visualize progress and support transparent reporting using multiple data sources and types.
  • Contribute to shaping processes that will help deliver ambitious climate and nature goals for the district.
