Job Description


This role is designed to help support the planning, development and delivery of clear, engaging, and timely internal communications across John Crane. Working closely with the Corporate Communications & PR Manager, this role will help ensure that employees worldwide are informed, connected, and aligned with our strategy, values, and business priorities.

The Key Activities & Accountabilities are as follows -

  • Deliver high-quality written content for internal audiences, ensuring clarity, accuracy and alignment with leadership tone of voice.
  • Manage day-to-day internal communications requests, ensuring prompt responses, prioritisation and timely delivery.
  • Take ownership of drafting and circulating internal announcements, updates, leadership messages and campaign materials.
  • Maintain and update the internal communications calendar, ensuring sequencing and dependencies are managed effectively.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of major internal campaigns and initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and clear supporting materials.
  • Maintain accurate records, templates and asset libraries, helping to uphold high editorial standards across all content.
  • Provide reliable administrative and project support, ensuring approvals, translations and content flow are fully managed.
  • Build strong working relationships with departments across the business to gather information, source stories and ensure alignment.

Internal Communications Support

  • Draft, edit and distribute internal announcements, newsletters, updates and campaign materials.
  • Maintain a consistent narrative aligned to business priorities.
  • Support content that strengthens understanding of major initiatives.

Content Planning & Calendar Management

  • Help manage the global internal communications calendar.
  • Support prioritisation of incoming requests.
  • Track deadlines, translations and channel requirements.

Newsletter & Editorial Support

  • Assist with the monthly 'Better Connected' newsletter.
  • Source content, coordinate submissions, draft articles and proofread.

Employee Engagement & Platforms

  • Support engagement with KnowHow, Sales Hub, Viva Engage and intranet.
  • Coordinate posting schedules and content tagging.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor internal communications metrics.
  • Support development of improvement recommendations.

Administrative & Project Support

  • Organise meetings, approvals, translations and asset coordination.
  • Maintain content files, templates and asset libraries.

Qualifications

  • Exceptionally strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible content for global employee audiences.
  • Proven experience in marketing, communications or internal communications.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in proofreading and accuracy checks.
  • Confident using Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint and Teams).
  • A collaborative working style, able to build relationships across functions, regions and levels.

Desirable -

  • Experience within a global, engineering, technical or B2B environment.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Viva Engage, intranet publishing systems or email distribution tools.
  • Basic understanding of communications analytics.
