Full job description

The Role

The successful candidate will provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control support for structural steel installation activities, ensuring all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, QCPs, ITPs, client requirements and applicable standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Structural steel erection inspections and site quality surveillance
  • Implementation and monitoring of QCPs and ITPs
  • Raising and coordinating Notifications of Inspection (NOIs)
  • Managing NCRs, observations and corrective actions through to closure
  • Material receipt inspections, identification and full traceability
  • Dimensional control – alignment, plumbness, line, level and erection tolerances
  • Inspection of preloaded and non-preloaded bolted connections
  • Maintaining bolt installation, tensioning, torque and certification records
  • Managing inspection and quality documentation using Asite and Field View
  • Maintaining calibration registers and certification
  • Compiling structural steel erection dossiers and project turnover/handover packs
  • Liaising with Construction Management, Site Supervision, Surveyors, Client Representatives and Project Quality Teams
  • Supporting client audits, inspections, punch-list close-out and final project turnover

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

✓ CSWIP 3.1 Certified Welding Inspector
✓ HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Mechanical or Structural Engineering
✓ Valid CCNSG Safety Passport
✓ Minimum 3 years’ experience in structural steelwork inspection and quality assurance
✓ Strong experience in structural steel erection, bolting inspection and dimensional control
✓ Working knowledge of Asite and Field View

CONTRACT MAY EXCEED 3 MONTHS

Pay: £45.00-£55.00 per hour

  • Structural Steel: 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • CSWIP 3.1 or Higher (required)
