About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly capable and commercially minded Dealership Accountant to join our successful Jaguar Land Rover dealership on a 6-month fixed-term maternity cover contract commencing in September 2026.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director and Group Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the business, providing accurate reporting, and supporting operational decision-making during a busy and important period for the dealership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Production and submission of manufacturer financial composite reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with JLR and group financial reporting requirements.
  • Analysis of composite results, identifying trends, opportunities and areas of concern.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and maintenance of financial controls.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Analysis of departmental profitability and key performance indicators.
  • Management of sales, purchase and nominal ledgers.
  • Supporting operational managers with financial reporting and performance analysis.
  • Management of part-time purchase ledger clerk.

About You

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Is qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Has strong accounting, reporting and financial control experience.
  • Previous motor-trade or dealership account experience is desired but not essential.
  • Familiarity with dealer management systems and manufacturer reporting (desired but not essential)
  • Is able to work independently and be self-sufficient, managing competing priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Is a confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business.
