What You’ll Be Doing
As Deputy Manager, you’ll:
- Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting
- Be a trusted key holder and step confidently into leadership in the Manager’s absence
- Coach and inspire the team to deliver outstanding practice
- Lead on learning and development strategies for children and staff
- Champion our inclusive, outdoor-rich, child-led curriculum
- Build strong, positive relationships with families and the wider community
- Help drive enrolment and build the nursery’s local reputation
- Stay up to date with legislation and be a safeguarding champion across the setting
What We’re Looking For
We’re searching for a motivated, reflective leader with the passion and purpose to deliver exceptional outcomes for children, families and staff.
You’ll need:
- A Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
- 2+ years’ experience in a nursery setting, with previous leadership experience
- Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and best practice
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team leadership skills
- The ability to inspire, support and develop others
- A calm, flexible approach with a “solutions not problems” mindset
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
