Join Our Team at Combe Hay Residential Home

Combe Hay Residential Home is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly catering team. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will help ensure our residents receive nutritious, home-cooked meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Working alongside the Head Chef and kitchen team, you will assist with food preparation, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and support the smooth running of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the chefs with food preparation, including preparing vegetables, salads, and other meal ingredients.
  • Support the preparation and service of meals for residents.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock.
  • Help ensure compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Support the kitchen team with general duties as required.
  • Contribute to a positive dining experience for residents.

About You

  • Previous kitchen or catering experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
  • A willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work weekends on a rota basis.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards.
