Team Mission

We’re looking for a technically strong, highly motivated AI Implementation Intern to join OakNorth’s AI Centre of Excellence. You’ll work across 2–3 UK functions to identify automation opportunities, build business cases, develop AI prototypes, and help teams adopt AI responsibly and effectively. This is a role for someone passionate about solving real operational problems and driving AI culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Research and map workflows, identify inefficiencies, and build business cases using the Eliminate-Simplify-Automate approach.
    • Lead the design and prototype AI/automation solutions using LLMs, Python, Power Automate and Custom GPTs.
    • Document learnings, templates, and reusable components to scale solutions across teams.
    • Support and deliver demos, trainings, and workshops to improve AI literacy and support the AI Champions network.
    • Research emerging AI trends, tools, and startups; assess suitability with CoE, Risk, and Technology.

Requirements:

    • Excellent communication skills for engaging with startups and senior management.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

What You’ll Gain

    • Exposure to multiple business functions and senior stakeholders.
    • Hands-on experience deploying AI/automation in a regulated financial environment.
    • Skills in process optimisation, LLM applications, and end-to-end solution delivery.
    • The opportunity to shape OakNorth’s growing AI culture and governance.
    • A portfolio of real AI builds with measurable impact.
