Pembroke & Bull Contracts Ltd is a well-established commercial painting and decorating contractor with over 13 years of successful operation across London, Essex, Kent and the South East. We specialise in delivering high-quality finishes on commercial, residential, heritage and new-build projects. We are now seeking a motivated and detail-driven Estimator to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing accurate cost estimates for painting & decorating packages across commercial, industrial, heritage and new-build sites.
  • Reviewing tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, and bills of quantities.
  • Carrying out site visits to assess scope, access requirements, measurements and risks.
  • Producing clear breakdowns, take-offs, and rates in line with company pricing structures.
  • Liaising with suppliers to maintain up-to-date material prices and cost data.
  • Working closely with Directors, Contracts Managers, and Surveyors to ensure smooth project handovers.
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities along with risks, clarifications, and exclusions.
  • Managing tender deadlines and ensuring all submissions are accurate and compliant.

About You

  • Experience estimating painting & decorating works (preferred), or experience in similar construction estimating roles with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse drawings and specifications.
  • Good numeracy skills with an understanding of measurements, labour outputs, and materials.
  • Confident using Excel and estimating/take-off software (training provided).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
