Quantity Surveyor

Belfast | £55,000-£75,000 + Van

We are hiring for our client, a growing construction business with a strong pipeline of projects across Belfast and NI, for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This QS role offers genuine autonomy - from feasibility and tendering right through to final account - and the chance to take real ownership of project finances on a first project based in NI.

The successful Quantity Surveyor will manage costs, negotiate contracts, and safeguard commercial interests across live construction projects, working closely with clients, project managers, and senior stakeholders.

The Role

  • Prepare accurate budgets, conduct cost checks, and review monthly financial forecasts against actuals
  • Lead the tendering process, evaluate bids, and negotiate contract terms and pricing
  • Ensure compliance with industry contracts (JCT/NEC) and construction law
  • Manage contractual claims, value engineering, and variation requests to protect commercial interests
  • Advise clients and senior management on feasibility, profitability, and cost impacts

The Person

  • 5+ years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator on build projects
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
  • Proficient in JCT/NEC contracts and construction law
  • Strong Excel skills, negotiation ability, and commercial risk analysis
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety regulations and site compliance
  • Full UK driving licence
