About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Rail Interface Planner based at our Head Office in Elderslie.

Reporting to the PPM Manager, the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of maintenance access planning, ensuring that safe, efficient and cost-effective access is achieved to comply with PPM timescales and Network Rail standards.

Role Responsibilities

Assess work locations across the rail network and determine the appropriate level of protection required to enable works to be conducted safely and efficiently, including Possessions, Line Blocks, Segregated Working, and OLE Isolations.

Prepare task briefs, Safe Work Packs, and supporting documentation as required for a wide range of tasks and operational environments.

Act competently as a Responsible Manager, authorising Safe Work Packs (SWPs) through the On-Trac system, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and company procedures.

Review returned site packs and work documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and quality, addressing any discrepancies or learning points identified.

Review and approve project health, safety, and environmental arrangements (specifically requirements under the CDM Regulations 2015 and other legislative requirements) and monitor implementation of these arrangements to promote safe and compliant delivery of projects

Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Company’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems, other company processes and specific customer specifications and standards and take action to mitigate programme, commercial, health, safety, environmental and reputational risk.

Requirements:

Personal Track Safety (PTS) competence

Excellent communication skills

Minimum 2 years’ experience

Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages

Working knowledge of Railway operations NWR/ RSSB standards and safety legislation relating to safe access and works delivery.
