Full job description

Due to the continued growth of our Alternative Provision, we are seeking an Learning Mentor to inspire, guide, and support our young people around Employability.

We’re looking for a full time experienced, learner-focused Employability Learning Mentor to take small groups across our provision. They will strive to improve their knowledge and skills to enable them to successfully move into employment, transition into adulthood and become a positive member of society.

You’ll work closely with learners, delivery teams, and managers to ensure high-quality teaching, assessment, and support, aligned to awarding body requirements and organisational standards.

Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering Employability knowledge and skills to groups of learners.

- Delivering interventions to small groups to help with the young people's transition into adulthood.
- Teaching, assessing, and providing feedback in line with awarding body regulations
- Supporting learners with information, advice, and guidance throughout their programme
- Maintaining accurate learner records and completing all required documentation
- Supporting examinations and invigilation as required
- Contributing to quality assurance, standardisation, and continuous improvement activity

What you’ll bring:
- Experince of delivering empliyability skills and knowledge.
- A drive to help transition young people on their journey into adulthood
- Experience delivering and assessing young people in a learning environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A learner-centred, supportive approach with high standards for quality and compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to actively listen and provide constructive feedback
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with mentees
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the unique needs of each mentee

- Experience in running young enterprise projects would be an advantage

NOTE:

It’s a criminal offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with children and young people.
