Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role involves overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The Chef will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests while supervising kitchen staff to deliver outstanding dining experiences.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring efficient food production and service
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Oversee food safety procedures, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the kitchen
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control stock levels to minimise waste
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Develop new menu items in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to uphold high standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant sectors
- Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Team management skills with an emphasis on training and motivating staff
- Experience in menu development and culinary innovation
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and management
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
