Full job description

Ownership of the implementation of Sicon manufacturing system across the operating functions and maintenance of the integrity of the system and data generate thereafter. Working closely with the Engineering, Procurement and Production teams, your primary focus will be the full implementation of Sicon 200 throughout the entire manufacturing process and product portfolio. Helping to optimise production workflows and ensuring seamless coordination between the various departments throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Sicon Manufacturing:

· Expertly navigate and utilise Sicon Manufacturing software to track stock levels, monitor production progress, and generate accurate operational and financial reports.

· Daily management of the MRP system, including investigating/resolving issues and providing support to users of the system.

· Configure and maintain the Sicon Manufacturing system to align with the organisation’s production requirements.

· Monitor inventory to ensure manufacturing is accurately tracking stock levels from procurement through to production and despatch.

· Work alongside Engineering, Production and Procurement teams to ensure BOMs are created as required ensuring all parts contained in the BOM are correctly set up and structured in Sicon Manufacturing. Liaise with relevant teams to ensure the BOMs, associated Works Order Routings and Part Numbers remain accurate and up to date (including any Engineering Change Notices received).

· Develop and apply Works Order routings.

· Managing the Sicon Manufacturing software to ensure a seamless process for implementing the Bill of Materials of a new product, tracking through production, and up to the final sale.

· Drive communication and employee engagement with Sicon Manufacturing, ensuring all Departmental Production Managers are aware of the requirements of their teams.

· Perform ad hoc projects and implementation of complementary software packages to Sage and Sicon as the business requires.

Production Tracking:

· Collaborate with production teams to accurately track the progress of manufacturing processes through Sicon Manufacturing.

· Suggest and develop meaningful KPI’s and dashboards to measure productivity and efficiency.

· Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in production workflows and propose solutions to enhance productivity.

· Ensure written processes are in place for production through Sicon Manufacturing.

Cost Analysis:

· Analyse production costs and overhead expenses to identify areas for cost reduction or process improvement.

· Ensure material and labour costings remain accurate and up to date.

· Investigation and Reporting of variances to the business.

· Work closely with the finance team to develop cost-effective strategies that align with organisational objectives.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

· Serve as a liaison between the various departments in the business, facilitating communication and ensuring alignment of goals and objectives.

· Ensure the objectives of each team across the organisation are aligned with the wider business objectives regarding Sage and Sicon Manufacturing usage in a cohesive manner.

· Act as project lead for any Sicon Manufacturing improvements or enhancements including the implementation of new software or processes that deliver business control and insight.

People Management:

· Conduct regular performance reviews, objective setting, and ongoing performance management to support employee development and ensure alignment with business objectives.

· Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

· Support recruitment, onboarding, training and development of employees to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.

Qualifications

  • Degree level educated and/or recognised certification in Technology ideally MRP/ERP systems.
  • While formal qualifications relevant to the role will be beneficial, candidates “qualified by experience” will be considered.

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Detailed working knowledge of ERP systems (ideally Sicon Manufacturing) with in-depth knowledge of Bill of Material structures for planning and manufacturing.
  • Experience of implementing and maintaining ERP/MRP operating systems such as Sicon Manufacturing.
  • Experience of working in a high paced engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Works independently, decisive, sound judgement, problem solver with the ability to work under pressure and motivate others.
  • Commercially astute with strong organisational and analytical skills with knowledge of P&L and Balance sheet.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Willing to undertake training of departments leads/other as superusers in the requirements and functionality of Sage by department.

Desirable

  • Excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Numerate and IT skills with extensive software proficiency covering a wide variety of applications, basic MRP and computer planning systems knowledge, and experience and / or training in LEAN manufacturing / continual improvement.
