Bloomfields is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable Front of House Deli Assistant & Barista to join our busy and welcoming team in Shrivenham.

This is a customer-facing role at the heart of our deli, perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in excellent service, and possess relevant experience in food preparation and serving.

This role involves preparing and serving food and beverages in a busy deli environment, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of food safety.

Duties

• Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, adhering to company standards.
• Serve a range of deli foods, salads, sandwiches, and cakes to customers with professionalism and friendliness.
• Preparing and presenting the deli counter to a high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the food preparation area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
• Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system and provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, cups, utensils, and packaging materials.
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, assembling sandwiches, or preparing salads.
• Supporting kitchen colleagues with general duties to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and that the kitchen is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers efficiently without compromising quality.
• Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer-facing food service role is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is essential.
• Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
• Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
• Good communication skills and a friendly demeanour to enhance the customer experience.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
