HGV 2 Pay Rate: £16.00 per hour
Guaranteed Hours: 45 hours per week
Location: Dewsbury

Workmate Agency are looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our client in Dewsbury, operating 18t–26t curtain-sider vehicles across the local area.

This is a hands-on role suited to a professional driver who takes pride in safe driving, compliance, and delivering excellent customer service.

Duties Include

• Driving HGV Class 2 curtain-sider vehicles safely and efficiently
• Collecting and transporting waste materials including aerosols, oily rags, and paint
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Using handheld or tablet devices to complete vehicle and job records
• Following all transport, site, and road safety regulations
• Providing a professional service to customers
• Supporting the depot and transport team when required

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
• ADR and Moffett qualifications preferred but not essential
• Experience with hazardous waste or curtain-sider vehicles is advantageous
• Reliable and safety-focused approach
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Flexibility for early starts from 4:30am

Pay and Benefits

• £16.00 per hour
• 45-hour guaranteed week
• Overtime paid at x1.5 after 45 hours
• £10 early start bonus for shifts starting before 4:30am
• £3 daily meal allowance
• £26.50 night allowance where applicable
• Full PPE and uniform provided
• Company pension scheme
• Death in Service benefit (4x annual salary after 6 months’ service)
