SEN Lead
Location - East School (E1)
Salary: Starting From £32,270 FTE per annum
Working Pattern: Full time
Monday – Wednesday: 8.30am – 4.30pm
Thursday: 8.30am – 6.00pm
Friday: 8.30am – 4.00pm

We are The Complete Works (TCW) a registered charity and independent alternative provision school that delivers bespoke, nurturing education to young people across London who thrive outside of a mainstream setting. Covering Key Stages 1 through 5, we specialise in a bespoke approach to learning, blending academic studies with creative and vocational subjects. Education is delivered through a flexible combination of Learning Hubs, small group collaboration and one to one lessons taught in local communities or students' homes. With a diverse curriculum that enables students to sit for GCSEs, BTECs and other qualifications, we firmly place creativity, wellbeing support and tailored learning at the core of our mission, helping students rediscover their aspirations in a safe and supportive community.
Following our Outstanding Ofsted judgement in 2025, TCW is continuing to strengthen its inclusive practice and develop highly responsive, personalised provision for learners with complex needs across East and South London.
We are seeking an experienced SEN Lead to play a central role in coordinating SEND provision, ensuring EHCPs are effectively implemented and that students receive consistent, high-quality support across our East School.
This is a strategic and operational role requiring strong leadership, excellent organisational ability, and a deep commitment to inclusive education. You will be supported by the SEND Officer, who is part of the Senior Leadership Team in order to work collaboratively. You will work alongside other key roles within the school education team, within a vibrant office environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coordinating EHCP annual reviews and reporting
- Ensuring SEND provision is effectively implemented across the school
- Working with admissions to assess and plan appropriate placements
- Developing and monitoring individual education plans and risk assessments
- Acting as the key liaison for parents, carers and external agencies
- Supporting staff to implement effective SEND strategies
- Overseeing SEND data, progress tracking and reporting
- Supporting and guiding staff working with complex needs
About you:
You will have significant experience working with children and young people with SEND, including in alternative provision settings. You will have strong knowledge of EHCP processes, sa
You will be highly organised, calm under pressure and confident working across multiple stakeholders including families, professionals and internal teams.
A SENCo qualification or QTS is desirable but not essential.

Requirements:
- Legal right to work in the UK - we unfortunately cannot offer visa sponsorship
- Enhanced DBS Certificate and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
- Two professional reference checks.
- Experience working with young people, ideally with SEN or SEMH
- Degree educated
Training:
- One off induction day – 9.00am – 3.45pm
- Five Tuesday afternoon induction training sessions- 4.30 – 6.00pm
- Ongoing professional development on Thursday afternoons – 4.30 – 6.00pm
- You will be teaching and training simultaneously.
