The Role

As a Waste Clearance Operative, you’ll be responsible for driving one of our 3.5t tipper vans, collecting and removing waste from customer sites throughout London and nearby areas.

This is a hands-on, active role involving a mix of driving, loading, and customer interaction. You’ll complete a wide variety of jobs — from light furniture removals to more challenging collections such as construction debris or fly-tipped waste.

You’ll work both independently and as part of a two-person team, depending on the job type. While the work can be physical at times, reliability, communication, and professionalism are the key qualities we value most.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently drive a 3.5t tipper van to and from customer locations across London and nearby regions.

• Load, transport, and dispose of waste in accordance with company and environmental standards.

• Provide excellent customer service and represent Oakley Waste professionally at all times.

• Use our secure mobile app to manage daily jobs, upload photos, and record progress.

• Work solo or as part of a two-person team, depending on job requirements.

• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and promptly report any maintenance issues.

• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points).

• Confident operating a 3.5t tipper van in and around London.

• Comfortable using mobile apps for job tracking and reporting.

• Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused, with good communication skills.

• Physically able to carry out manual loading and lifting.

• Must pass a DBS check and agree to random drug/alcohol testing.

Hours & Working Pattern

• Full-time role with a minimum 35-hour weekly guarantee.

• Standard hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

• Overtime available up to 6:00 PM.

• Monday to Friday only (no weekend work currently).

• Expect to work 40–55 hours per week, depending on workload.

Pay & Benefits

• £13.00 per hour, paid monthly.

• Overtime pay available beyond standard hours.
