Full job description

Purpose:

The Occupational Health Nurse will support the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of Perenco’s Occupational Health (OH) services in line with the Occupational Health Department Service Level Agreement (SLA).

The role encompasses fitness-to-work assessments sickness absence case management, health surveillance programmes, emergency occupational health advice and health promotion initiatives. Services are predominantly delivered at the Norwich Clinic, with regular planned and ad hoc travel to all Perenco UK (PUK) onshore locations, including (but not limited to) Norwich Office, Norwich Heliport and Dimlington/Bacton Terminals.

The post holder must demonstrate a high level of occupational health knowledge, work effectively both autonomously and with the HR Team and wider operations teams, and show flexibility to deliver services outside normal working hours when required to meet operational or incident-driven needs.

Essential Qualifications

Current registration with the NMC (Nursing & Midwifery Council) as a 1st level General Nurse (RN).

Experience

· Post-registration nursing experience

· Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and standard IT systems

· Strong organisational and workload management skills

· Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision

· Professional, approachable, and confident communication style

· Ability to build and maintain effective, trusted working relationships

· High degree of self-motivation and interest in occupational health practice

Principal Accountabilities:

Occupational Health Screening and Clinical Delivery

Plan, organise, and deliver occupational health screening in accordance with OEUK and Perenco standards and protocols, including, vaccinations, and provision of general health advice. Services are primarily delivered at the Norwich Clinic, with additional delivery at onshore operational sites as required.

Drug and Alcohol Testing

Coordinate and undertake drug and alcohol testing across Perenco UK sites, including occasional out-of-hours testing to support operational or incident-related needs.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work proactively with HR, managers, and key stakeholders to deliver a consistent, high-quality, and employee-focused occupational health service to employees and core contractors.

Sickness Absence Case Management

Contribute to sickness absence management through employee consultations and absence reviews, providing fitness-for-work and adjustment recommendations under the direction of the Occupational Health Physician.

Health Promotion and Surveillance

Develop and deliver health promotion initiatives, including presentations, digital content, and supporting materials, and coordinate Perenco’s health surveillance programmes in line with regulatory and company requirements.

Audit, Governance, and Clinic Management

Participate in clinical and service audits, support governance activities, and effectively plan and prioritise workload across the Norwich Clinic and other Perenco UK locations to ensure efficient service delivery.

Clinical Records and Data Management

Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records and ensure timely entry of health data and consultation notes into Meddbase and associated systems.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work proactively with HR, managers, and key stakeholders to deliver a consistent, high-quality, and employee-focused occupational health service to employees and core contractors.

Professional Responsibilities

Uphold a duty of care to employees, contractors, comply with Perenco Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies, maintain NMC professional standards, and complete all mandatory training within required timescales.

Additional Responsibilities

Provide support to industrial hygiene activities when required, under appropriate guidance and supervision, and ensure completion of all mandatory Perenco requirements, including Computer Ergonomic Screening (DSE), Pregnancy Risk Assessments, Shoulder Breadth Measurements, Data Privacy, Information Safeguarding, Code of Conduct and Respect in the Workplace.

Pay: £200.00-£300.00 per day
