The role
Reporting into the Finance team, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing across all Together Group entities. This is a hands-on, standalone role requiring strong technical knowledge of UK payroll, HMRC compliance, and pension auto-enrolment, as well as the ability to liaise confidently with employees, HR, and Finance stakeholders.

- Submit Real Time Information (RTI) filings — FPS and EPS — accurately and on time
- Administer PAYE, National Insurance contributions, and student loan deductions
- Respond to HMRC correspondence including coding notices and payment reconciliations
- Maintain compliance with current UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- Manage P11D preparation and distribution of P60s at year-end
Pensions & Auto-Enrolment
- Administer workplace pension auto-enrolment across all entities, including enrolments, opt-outs, and re-enrolment cycles
- Submit pension contribution files to providers within required deadlines
- Maintain accurate pension records and respond to employee queries
Payroll Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly payroll journals for posting to the accounting system
- Reconcile payroll control accounts on a monthly basis
- Produce payroll reports for HR and Finance as required
- Assist with internal and external audit queries, providing supporting documentation
General

- Respond to employee payslip and pay queries in a timely and professional manner
- Support the Finance team with ad hoc payroll-related projects as required
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes and controls
About you
- Proven experience running end-to-end UK payroll, ideally across multiple entities or a group structure
- Strong working knowledge of PAYE, RTI, statutory payments, and pension auto-enrolment
- Experience preparing payroll journals and reconciling payroll control accounts
- Comfortable working independently and managing competing deadlines
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive pay queries professionally
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g. Sage, ADP, Moorepay, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel
Desirable
- CIPP qualification or equivalent payroll accreditation
- Experience in a creative agency, media, or multi-entity group environment
- Familiarity with finance systems such as Xero, Sage, or similar
What we offer
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience
- Hybrid working — a mix of office and remote
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- A supportive Finance team and the opportunity to shape and own the payroll function at a growing creative group
Pay: From £50,000.00 per year
