Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Primary Tutor to provide tailored one-on-one support for a neurodivergent student engaged in an EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) program.

The Tutor will specialise in play-based teaching and will develop individualised learning plans based on the child's unique interests and preferred learning styles, ensuring activities are student-centered while addressing any educational gaps.

This role demands a sensitive, low-demand, and low-arousal teaching approach to meet the specific needs of the student, delivering lessons in a calm, nurturing environment. Tutorials are scheduled during daytime hours Wednesday (12-3pm) and Thursday (9-12pm)
so candidates must have availability within these times.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching KS1/2 curriculum.
  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire young learners, focusing on progress and confidence building.
  • Experience working with neurodivergent students, particularly those students with PDA and ADHD, would be an advantage
  • Familiarity with low-arousal and low-demand teaching strategies.
  • Comfortable working in varied settings, including homes and community spaces.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create cohesive support plans.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Desirable: Level 1 safeguarding training or higher.
  • Enhanced DBS certification on the Update Service is advantageous.
  • A full, clean driver's license and access to a vehicle are preferred.
