Residential childcare worker

We are looking for a permanent Night time Children’s residential childcare worker for our new home in Severn sisters Neath. This is a small provision with a maximum of two children being housed at any time. We are a new company whose goal is to provide quality care which is tailored to each child’s individual needs, in a holistic and caring environment.

We are looking for motivated individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of the young people we support.

We are a team of experienced and dedicated professionals who are committed to providing excellent care and support to some of the most vulnerable young people in the area. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic and experienced team whose goal is to provide homes that young people can feel safe, supported and cared for in a Child friendly environment. Roles and responsibilities

As a residential childcare worker your duties will include but not limited to:

  • advocating, supporting and encouraging young people to be the best version of themselves.
  • Involve them in decisions that have a direct impact on them
  • Support their physical and emotional needs
  • Work alongside the young people to ensure they achieve the highest level of independence as possible ready for their next transition.
  • Helping to provide and maintain a safe, happy and homely environment
  • Be a positive, compassionate and patient individual who young people can build meaningful relationships with.
  • Be a good role model

Requirements

  • Willingness to undertake QCF Level 3 in children and young people, along with all other relevant training.
  • To be flexible in regards to the shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
  • A positive mindset and attitude, a good sense of humour is always a bonus!
  • Possession of a full uk manual driving licence as driving the house cars will be a part of your role to transport the young people.
  • Must be 21 years of age or over
  • Must hold a UK driving licence ( Manual)
  • Experience in working with young people, or in roles that have required you to be patient, understanding and an excellent role model
  • We welcome applicants with lived experience of the care system
  • The desire to make a positive difference to young people’s lives, and be understanding of the challenges and trauma that they may have experienced.
  • An up to date DBS/ willingness to undertake one ( Company will cover the cost of this)
