Salary: £30,000 pro rata

Contract type: Full time

Location: Flexible/remote with occasional learner visits initially in the South West of England but will cover the South of England.

Channel Training is a specialist apprenticeship provider for the outdoor sector, supporting employers and learners across the UK to develop confident, capable professionals. We deliver high-quality, flexible apprenticeships that fit around real operational needs and focus on practical, sector-relevant skills.

We are expanding our early years outdoor learning provision and are looking for an experienced Early Years Tutor to deliver apprenticeship programmes to learners in nurseries, preschools, and outdoor-based settings.

The Role

As an Early Years Educator Tutor, you will:

  • Deliver and assess Early Years Educator apprentices in line with the apprenticeship standard
  • Support apprentices to develop professional practice, confidence, and knowledge of outdoor and nature-based learning
  • Plan and deliver engaging learning sessions, both remotely and in-person
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback
  • Carry out progress reviews with apprentices and employers
  • Prepare apprentices for Apprenticeship Assessments
  • Maintain accurate learner records and ensure compliance with apprenticeship requirements

What We’re Looking For

You will ideally have:

  • Significant experience working in Early Years settings
  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
  • Passion for outdoor, play-based, and nature-focused learning
  • Strong communication, organisational, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage a caseload of learners
  • Teaching qualification (CAVA, AET, TAQA, Cert Ed)

Desirable:

  • Prior experience delivering apprenticeships or vocational training
  • Assessor qualifications
  • Familiarity with Ofsted frameworks and quality standards
