CLdN Ports wish to recruit a H&S (Health and Safety) Advisor to work at our busy and expanding Terminal. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and have a flexible, professional and pro-active approach to work.

The role:

  • Reporting to the safety team all incidents and accidents and actions arising – maintaining a database of these and ensuring that the actions are closed off
  • Attending accidents and incidents (where possible) as informed by the operational or engineering staff, ensuring that these are documented and determining whether further investigation is required
  • Attending local safety meetings
  • Liaising with safety reps on a formal and informal basis
  • Assisting in completion of workplace transport risk assessments in conjunction with the site or are manager
  • Completing safety inspections and compliance audits, producing written reports and following up of any actions in accordance with objectives set
  • Undertaking monthly statutory checks of fire extinguishers, alarms and other fire systems
  • Completing drug and alcohol testing, in accordance with the company policy
  • Managing of first aid supplies and checking first aid kits in accordance with the Safety Management requirements
  • Delivering health and safety, and security inductions to new members of staff
  • Undertake other reasonable tasks commensurate with the level and abilities of the job, as requested

Your profile:

  • Experience in similar role, specifically in risk assessments, auditing and inspection, investigating and reporting on accidents / incidents, safe systems of work and Safety Management Systems
  • Up to date knowledge of safety & environmental legislation
  • You will have a high level of professionalism
  • Good communication skills are essential
  • You must have excellent IT skills with experience of using Microsoft programmes including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy are crucial skills for this role
  • Full UK driving licence
