Position: Medical Receptionist / Administrator

Location: Alba Medical Group – Lanarkshire

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time / Part-time

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Due to continued growth across our Lanarkshire practices, we are seeking enthusiastic and organised individuals to join our administrative team as Medical Receptionists / Administrators. Successful candidates will work across our Lanarkshire sites, which include East Kilbride, Strathaven and Coatbridge, supporting the delivery of excellent patient care and service.

About the Role

Alba Medical Group is looking for an enthusiastic, professional and compassionate Medical Receptionist / Administrator to join our busy practice team across our Lanarkshire sites.

This is a varied and rewarding role, providing an essential front-line service to patients while supporting GPs, clinicians and the wider practice team with efficient day-to-day administration.

The successful candidate will be friendly, organised and confident when communicating with patients, colleagues and healthcare professionals. Previous experience within a GP practice or healthcare setting would be desirable, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

· Providing a welcoming and professional reception service to patients.

· Handling patient enquiries both face-to-face and by telephone.

· Booking, cancelling and rearranging appointments.

· Processing requests and directing patients to the appropriate service.

· Registering new patients and maintaining accurate patient records.

· Processing prescriptions and administrative requests in line with practice procedures.

· Scanning, coding and filing clinical and administrative correspondence.

· Supporting clinicians and the wider practice team with administrative duties.

· Liaising with hospitals, community services and other healthcare professionals where appropriate.

· Supporting the Workflow of documentation from secondary care.

· Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to GDPR requirements.

· Working effectively as part of a busy multidisciplinary practice team.

· Carrying out general administrative duties to support the smooth running of the practice.

· Confident using computer systems and willing to learn new software.

· Able to work calmly and professionally in a busy environment.

· Reliable, flexible and a strong team player.

· Respectful of patient confidentiality and sensitive information.

· Comfortable dealing with a wide range of patients and situations.

Previous GP practice, NHS or healthcare administration experience is desirable but not essential.
