Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

Make a Real Difference Behind the Scenes

Are you organised, approachable and passionate about providing excellent customer service?

Do you enjoy being the first point of contact and helping things run smoothly in a busy environment?

Join our team at Waythrough as an Administrator/Receptionist and play an important role in supporting our colleagues, visitors, partners and external stakeholders.

This is more than an administrative role – it’s an opportunity to be part of an organisation making a real difference to people's lives every day.

About the Role

As an Administrator/Receptionist, you will provide a wide range of administrative and organisational support, helping to ensure the smooth running of the reception and office environment.

You will be one of the first points of contact for employees, visitors, partners and external stakeholders, providing a friendly, professional and responsive service.

Working closely with the Office Manager and wider team, you will help coordinate day-to-day administrative tasks, support meetings and contribute to the effective running of the office.

This is a 30-hour-per-week role, with the option to work either 9:00am–3:00pm or 8:00am–2:00pm.

What You'll Do

  • Act as an assistant to the Office Manager and provide a welcoming and professional first point of contact for employees, visitors, partners and external stakeholders
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to enquiries appropriately and signposting or escalating when required
  • Manage reception and front-of-house duties, including maintaining the reception area, managing post and deliveries, supporting visitors, parking and access fobs, and meeting preparations
  • Provide administrative support for a range of meetings, including distributing agendas, gathering information and taking minutes
  • Help identify and resolve administrative and office-related issues and make suggestions for improvements
  • Support projects and key tasks across Central Support teams to help meet business objectives and operational needs
  • Handle information with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Waythrough to help provide an effective and professional service

This is a varied and rewarding role where your organisation, communication skills and positive approach will help make a real difference to the people and teams we support.

To Succeed in This Role, You'll Need:

  • Excellent organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Teams
  • The ability to communicate confidently and professionally with a wide range of people
  • The ability to work with discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality
  • The ability to prioritise and manage your workload in a busy environment
  • Experience in clerical, administrative or reception work
  • Experience within a customer care, healthcare, education or social care setting

A NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent qualification is desirable, although relevant demonstrable experience may also be considered.

Experience of working front of house within a busy head office environment would be an advantage.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is kind, courageous and respectful, shares our values and is committed to providing a high-quality service.

What We Offer

We value the people who make a difference every day. Alongside meaningful work, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive benefits package:

  • 27 days’ annual leave, rising to 32 after 1 year (plus bank holidays)
  • Pension scheme with 4.5% employer contribution, matched up to 6.5%
  • Life assurance (3× annual salary)
  • Enhanced sick pay and family-friendly pay
  • Birthday leave and the option to buy up to 5 extra days’ annual leave
  • Professional fee reimbursement for relevant qualifications
  • 24/7 online GP access and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Recognition and long service awards via our Way to Go and Aspirations portals
  • £500 Recommend a Friend bonus
  • Cycle to Work scheme and Credit Union membership
  • Discounts via Blue Light Card, Charity Discounts, Extras and Tickets for Good
  • Free will writing service and wellbeing initiatives throughout the year
