Would you like to work in a role which is both meaningful and rewarding, where you really feel that you make a difference?

About team

This is a great time to join Gloucestershire County Council, as Children’s Social Care is on an exciting journey, which focuses our approach into being more creative, strengths-based and person-centred, to ensure that we work together to ‘Make a Difference’ to our local communities.

We are an agile working organisation with a combination of office-based working and working from home (essential equipment is provided). We place a high premium on diversity and inclusion, as well as on health and wellbeing and we offer a flexible working scheme which is based on business need. We offer Continued Professional Development and will support you to develop your skills and career prospects within Children’s Services.

About the Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced business support administrator to join us as a Senior Business Administrator for the Social Work Academy in Children’s Social Care. The Social Work Academy is the centre for learning and development of our Children’s Social Care workforce as well as supporting new starters and recruitment pathways into social work. The successful candidate will work closely with the Business Administration Lead and alongside other Senior Business Administrator’s.

Duties will include: -

  • Lead on admin support for a portfolio of allocated programmes related to learning or recruitment (e.g. ASYE, Students, International, Year 2, Systemic etc.)
  • Deliver an all-round level of support for the programme activity, to include arranging events, managing bookings, tracking attendance or completion of activity (use of Learning Management System), development and preparation of learning materials.
  • Support the setup of new starters, including students, who are part of the programme.
  • Support the evaluation and feedback of the programmes to feed into developments and improvements.
  • To undertake any other key duty in relation to the programmes or running of the Academy.

About You

You will have proven leadership and administration skills and evidence of strong IT and communication skills. You will be able to demonstrate a flexible approach with an ability to manage your workload to meet deadlines. You will be very organised and able to deal with competing priorities. If you think that this is the role for you, we look forward to hearing from you. Why are you perfect for this role and what will you bring to our team.

About Us

In return we will offer you:

  • Regular formal and informal support.
  • Safe, supportive and positive working environment with regular, robust supervision.
  • Access to relevant training and career progression.
  • Annual leave of 25.5 days (pro rata) up to 30.5 days (pro rata) after 5 years employment.
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Staff discount scheme that offers access to great savings including discounts with major supermarket chains and high street retailers.
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that provides free, confidential, counselling and advice for employees, available 24 hours a day, online and by telephone.
