Marketing Manager

Purple Jay Nurseries

Location: United Kingdom (Hybrid / Flexible)
Contract: Full-time
Reporting to: Founder

About Purple Jay Nurseries

Purple Jay Nurseries is a values-led nursery group where children enjoy learning and are supported to become compassionate innovators.

We believe early years education should spark curiosity, creativity, and kindness, supported by confident leaders, empowered teams, and systems that reduce paperwork so educators can focus on what matters most: children.

Purple Jay Nurseries works alongside its sister education technology company, PeopleBunch, and acts as a real-world operating environment and proof point for best practice in early years education.

The Role

We are seeking a Marketing Manager to lead marketing for Purple Jay Nurseries.

This role is responsible for strengthening the Purple Jay Nurseries brand, driving parent enquiries and improving occupancy, building strong relationships with parents and the local community, and ensuring enquiries are properly tracked, followed up, and converted.

You will work closely with the Founder, leadership team, and administrators, translating real nursery practice into clear, authentic marketing supported by strong systems and data.

There will also be opportunities to support PeopleBunch over time, but this is not the primary focus of the role.

Key Responsibilities Brand and Messaging

  • Own and develop the Purple Jay Nurseries brand across all channels
  • Ensure messaging reflects our belief that children should enjoy learning and grow into compassionate innovators
  • Maintain consistency across websites, social media, and parent communications

Occupancy, Enquiries and Community

  • Drive parent enquiries and improve occupancy across nurseries
  • Support local marketing activity through administrators
  • Improve enquiry journeys from first contact to enrolment
  • Build trust with families through clear, values-led communication

Events and Parent Engagement

  • Plan, organise, and promote parent-facing events, including stay and play sessions, open days, and parent education workshops
  • Ensure events are purposeful, welcoming, and support enquiry conversion
  • Use events to strengthen community engagement and brand trust

CRM and Enquiry Management

  • Own and maintain the CRM system for parent enquiries
  • Ensure enquiries are logged accurately and followed up promptly
  • Track enquiries through visits, trials, and enrolments
  • Produce clear reports on enquiry sources, conversion rates, and event performance

Content and Digital

  • Create and manage website content, parent communications, and social media
  • Manage website performance, SEO, and landing pages
  • Support paid campaigns where appropriate
  • Track performance using clear KPIs such as enquiries, visits, enrolments, and occupancy

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Marketing experience in education, childcare, or family-facing services
  • Personal experience of using nursery provision as a parent, carer, or professional
  • Confident organising events and engaging directly with parents
  • Comfortable using and managing CRM systems
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively in a founder-led organisation

Desirable

  • Experience marketing multi-site organisations
  • Understanding of parent decision-making journeys
  • Experience improving enquiry-to-enrolment conversion

How Success Will Be Measured

  • Enquiry volume and quality
  • Enquiry-to-enrolment conversion rates
  • Event attendance and conversion
  • Occupancy improvements
  • CRM data accuracy and follow-up discipline
  • Brand clarity and consistency

Why Join Purple Jay Nurseries?

  • Purpose-driven organisation with strong values
  • Direct access to decision-makers
  • Real ownership and accountability
  • Marketing tied to outcomes, not vanity metrics
  • Childcare discount as an employee benefit
  • Opportunity to grow into group-level or SaaS marketing
