Digital Operations Controller (Polish & English)

High-Volume Execution & Coordination Role

Location: Staines-upon-Thames (office-based)
Company: ON THE SPOT BROKER LTD
Job type: Full-time, permanent

Salary: £28,000 – £33,000 per year

About the role

This is a serious operational role, not a general admin job and not a specialist or compliance position.

You will be responsible for keeping a high volume of shipments moving by controlling information, systems, and people. The role involves fast, repetitive work done accurately, constant prioritisation, and distributing tasks to remote team members.

Small errors in this role can cause shipment delays, financial losses, and customer disruption. Accuracy matters, but speed and execution are equally critical.

If you enjoy working fast, handling volume, and taking responsibility, this role will suit you.
If you prefer slow-paced work, analysis, or close supervision, it will not.

Languages (mandatory)

  • English: fluent
  • Polish: fluent at a professional, working level (spoken and written)

This role involves daily communication with Polish-speaking clients and colleagues. You must be able to explain issues, delays, documents, and next steps clearly in Polish under pressure.

English-first or Polish-first candidates are both acceptable, as long as Polish is strong, natural, and confident in real work situations.

Candidates with weak or broken Polish will not be considered.

What you will actually do

  • Manage very high volumes of emails and live operational requests
  • Manage shared inboxes handling +1000 of emails per day, prioritising and acting without delay
  • Copy, enter, and verify data quickly and accurately across multiple systems
  • Process large volumes of similar tasks repeatedly without slowing down
  • Identify urgent risks and act immediately
  • Distribute work to remote staff and monitor completion
  • Chase progress and resolve bottlenecks
  • Follow procedures precisely while working at speed

This role is about execution, control, and keeping operations moving.

What we are looking for

You must:

  • Be comfortable having your performance measured on speed, accuracy, and outcomes
  • Be extremely comfortable working on a computer all day
  • Be fast, organised, and accurate under pressure
  • Handle high-volume, repetitive work without losing focus
  • Multitask confidently and prioritise without being told
  • Be comfortable giving instructions and following up with others
  • Understand that small mistakes can have serious business consequences

Customs experience or certificates are not required.
You will be trained internally to an operational level.

What matters most is digital speed, judgement, and accountability.

Salary & compensation

£28,000 – £33,000 per year, depending on performance and responsibility level.

The upper end of the range reflects total compensation, including fixed allowances (such as daily lunch allowance and travel support) and discretionary performance bonuses.

Bonuses are performance-based and not guaranteed.

What we offer

  • Competitive base salary
  • £12 lunch allowance per working day
  • Travel allowance
  • Company pension
  • Casual dress
  • Office-based role with clear responsibility
  • Training in operational procedures and internal systems (including customs-related processes)
  • Fast progression for strong performers

Do NOT apply if:
– You are applying to many roles and hoping something sticks
– You need training on basic computer systems (email, browsers, spreadsheets)
– You prefer slow, varied, or low-pressure work
– You struggle with repetitive tasks or high volumes
– You are uncomfortable being measured on output and accuracy

This role is for people who want responsibility, pace, and clear results.

Important note

This role suits people who want to work hard, take responsibility, and build a career in operations.

If you are looking for a quiet admin role, flexible working, or a position where mistakes are easily tolerated, this job is not a good match.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company pension
  • Discounted or free food
  • Free or subsidised travel
  • Free parking
  • On-site parking

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Staines-upon-Thames TW18 4HR: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Application question(s):

  • This role involves high responsibility. Small mistakes can cause delays or financial

losses. Describe how you personally approach work where errors have real
consequences.

  • This role is office-based, fast-paced, and measured on speed and accuracy.

Are you comfortable with this and willing to be held accountable for results?

  • Describe a situation where you were shown a task or system only once and then

expected to perform it independently. What was the task, and how did you make
sure you remembered it correctly without asking again?

  • In this role you will not be shown basic tasks more than once.

Are you comfortable taking responsibility to remember and execute correctly
after a single explanation?
