Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic hospitality professional to join as an Assistant Manager, to lead our bar team and ensure an exceptional guest experience at The Trent Navigation and Big Shed - our flagship venue just a stone's throw away from The World Famous City Ground, Historic Trent Bridge Cricket Ground and Meadow Lane - Home of Notts County FC.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in traditional pubs and hospitality venues. As a Keyholder/Duty Manager or Assistant Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager, oversee daily operations, manage staff, and maintain high standards of service and product quality.

We are looking for someone with a lot of experience, must be prepared to work evenings and weekends.

This may be suitable for candidates at GM level looking to join a bigger business.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise bar staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organised bar area, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate food production and service.
  • Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to avoid shortages.
  • Train new staff on bartending techniques, food safety practices, and customer service standards.
  • Deliver excellent service.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and address any concerns promptly to enhance the dining experience.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a bar management role or similar supervisory position within the hospitality industry is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of bartending techniques, food preparation, and culinary practices.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen management.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff and customers alike.
  • A passion for the hospitality industry with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
