Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly, hardworking and versatile individual to join our team at our welcoming pub with guest accommodation. This dual-role position involves serving food and drinks to customers in a fast paced pub environment while also assisting with the cleaning and upkeep of guest rooms. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent customer skills and a strong attention to detail. You must be comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends. Experience in hospitality or housekeeping is preferred.

Duties

  • Greet and seat guests promptly with a warm and friendly attitude.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders while providing recommendations and upselling menu items.
  • Ensure timely delivery of food and drinks to tables, maintaining high standards of presentation.
  • Serve drinks confidently behind the bar.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area and bar.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards during food preparation and serving.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and communication regarding orders.
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently while handling cash or card transactions.
  • Clean and service guest rooms to a high standard, including changing bed linen and cleaning bathrooms
  • Taking responsibility for opening and closing the pub
  • Managing stock levels, including deliveries, rotation and keeping storage areas tidy

Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with food safety practices and culinary knowledge is advantageous.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
  • Basic math skills for processing bills and handling transactions accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with guests effectively and provide top-notch service.

Live in accommodation available

Job Types: Zero hours contract, Full-time

Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
