Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Roofer/Labourer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with roofing projects, performing general labour tasks, and supporting skilled tradespeople. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in roofing and construction while contributing to high-quality building projects. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems using various materials and techniques
  • Support the team in preparing work sites, including setting up scaffolding and safety barriers
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently
  • Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to aid in project execution
  • Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, tiles, or metal sheets
  • Carry out general labour tasks including site clean-up, material handling, and debris removal
  • Support fabrication and carpentry tasks as required for roofing structures
  • Assist with plumbing or masonry work when necessary to ensure project completion
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times to maintain a secure working environment

Skills

  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment
  • Knowledge of schematics, construction drawings, and technical plans
  • Experience or familiarity with welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, or plumbing is advantageous
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
  • Excellent teamwork skills and a proactive attitude towards learning new skills in construction and roofing environments
