Oxfordshire Adult Learning (OAL) is a large, award-winning faculty of Abingdon and Witney College. We are committed to maximising access to learning for adults across Oxfordshire, widening participation, and transforming the health, social, and economic wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities.
We are currently seeking a Guitar Tutor to deliver engaging and inspiring classes to groups of diverse learners. The role involves teaching two hourly sessions across different venues and times:
- Monday – Cheney School, Oxford
- Tuesday – Abingdon Campus
- Thursday – Abingdon Campus
As an Hourly Paid Lecturer, you will be responsible for planning courses, delivering high-quality lessons, maintaining learner progress records, and participating in professional development activities to enhance your teaching practice.
Essential Criteria:
- Passionate about Music, particularly Guitar and committed to sharing that enthusiasm with learners.
- Qualified to degree level (or equivalent).
- A Qualified Teacher (or willing to work towards qualification).
- Knowledgeable in Safeguarding and Child Protection issues relevant to the role.
- Competent with Level 2 literacy and numeracy (or equivalent).
- Experienced in teaching within the curriculum area.
- Skilled in delivering excellent teaching and learning experiences.
- Able to engage diverse learner groups and adapt to their needs.
- Equipped with tutorial and pastoral support skills.
- Fully committed to learner success and progression.
Desirable Criteria:
- Assessor/Verifier qualification.
- Experience teaching in a post-16 setting.
- Strong links with employers to enhance learner opportunities.
