About the Role

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and responsible Animal Care Technician to provide high-quality daily care for a range of animals including reptiles, amphibians, fish, small mammals, and invertebrates.

You’ll carry out daily husbandry routines; feeding, cleaning, monitoring health, and maintaining secure and hygienic enclosures, ensuring every animal receives exceptional care. You’ll also maintain accurate records, liaise with staff about animal welfare concerns, and ensure all environments meet high welfare standards.

The role involves travel between Parsons Walk and Leigh Campuses, so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Weekend working, Bank Holidays, and College closure periods (including Christmas and New Year) are required.

About You

You’ll be confident and experienced in handling a range of animal species, with a genuine passion for their wellbeing. You’ll have excellent attention to detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work independently, ensuring our animals are cared for to the highest standards every single day.

  • Confident handling reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, and invertebrates
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and sound judgement
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle
  • Willingness to work weekends, Bank Holidays, and during College closure periods

Ready to Join Us?

If you’re passionate about animal care and want to work in an environment where your contribution genuinely matters, apply today and help us continue to provide the best possible care for our animals.

The College reserves the right to interview for this post should suitable candidates apply prior to the closing date.
