Full job description

Some leaders manage care. You embody it—with confidence, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to excellence that sets the tone for everyone else.

We’re looking for a thoughtful, dependable, and experienced Deputy Manager to help lead one of our exceptional homes at Connaught Care—a luxury, all-inclusive care group redefining what later life can feel like.

With six stunning homes already open and six more in the pipeline, Connaught blends elegant hospitality, personal choice, and outstanding care. Our residents expect high standards—and we expect our leadership team to quietly ensure those standards are met, lived, and evolved every day.

You won’t just be "second in command"—you’ll be the calm voice in complexity, the bridge between frontline teams and strategic oversight, and the conscience of the home.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, with a focus on quality, safety, and operational leadership
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to care teams, acting as a visible and approachable leader
  • Oversee governance, medication management, risk assessments and compliance with regulatory standards (CQC)
  • Lead on audits, care planning, supervisions, and the training and development of care staff
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with residents, families, and external professionals
  • Act as the home’s lead in the Manager’s absence, ensuring continuity, confidence, and calm under pressure

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven leadership ability in a care home setting
  • Strong working knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and clinical governance
  • Emotional intelligence and the ability to coach, challenge and support with equal grace
  • A resident-first mindset that understands care is about moments, not just metrics

Why Connaught?

Because true leadership isn’t about ego—it’s about presence. It’s about knowing your stuff, holding the line, and helping everyone else rise to the standard.

At Connaught, our homes are clinically sound, beautifully run, and genuinely person-centred—and that only works when we have the right leaders in place. You’ll work in an elegant, supportive setting with time to lead properly, not firefight endlessly.

We’ll support you with professional development, operational clarity, and a team that shares your values. You’ll be empowered to help shape a home where everyone—residents, families, and staff—Live a Life More Extraordinary.

If you’re grounded, quietly confident, and ready to lead from the heart—we’d love to hear from you.

REWARDS & BENEFITS

We firmly believe that delivering extraordinary care starts with taking exceptional care of our people. That’s why we are committed to offering the most competitive and comprehensive total reward package in the industry. Here are just some of the benefits you can enjoy:

- Unlimited Annual Leave (yes, you read that right)

- Annual off-site full health check MOTs

- EV charging at work

- Salary sacrifice schemes for Childcare, groceries, Holidays C2W, and more (saving up to 42%)

- and more...
