Full job description

We are looking for a caring and experienced Team Leader to join our team here at The Firs care home.

This is a hands-on role supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities to live fulfilling, safe, and independent lives while leading and supporting a team of support workers on shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead shifts and support staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
  • Support adults with learning and physical disabilities to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ensure care plans, daily notes, and risk assessments are completed accurately
  • Act as a key link between the Registered Manager, senior team, and support staff, ensuring clear communication and consistency in practice
  • Act as a role model for good practice, dignity, and respect
  • Support medication administration, ordering and auditing.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and CQC standards are met
  • Communicate effectively with families, professionals, and management
  • Monitor quality standards and implement improvements.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities (essential)
  • Experience as a Senior Support Worker or Team Leader (preferred)
  • Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
  • Basic computer skills (e.g. care plans, daily notes, emails, online systems)
  • Good leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Flexible to work shifts including evenings and weekends
