Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the cleanliness of the workspace. Working with the team. Taking orders.Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, customer service, and time management within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks
  • Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
  • Assist customers with menu selections and provide excellent service to enhance their experience
  • Handle cash transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
  • Maintain cleanliness of the counter, equipment, and dining area in accordance with health regulations
  • Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality standards
  • Follow company procedures for food preparation and presentation

Qualifications

  • Prior barista experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is key
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and practices
  • Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy
  • Basic food preparation skills including handling ingredients safely
  • Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy hours
  • Good basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
  • Ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment
