Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on various types of buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety standards, and the ability to work at heights in a physically demanding environment. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in construction and related trades to contribute to high-quality projects while developing their skills further.

Duties

  • Install new roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques, ensuring durability and weather resistance
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components efficiently and safely
  • Interpret schematics, drawings, and technical specifications to guide installation processes
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as welding and fabrication machinery
  • Perform heavy lifting of roofing materials and equipment to facilitate installation or repairs
  • Utilise welding skills for metal roofing components or flashing as required
  • Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality expectations
  • Assist with other construction-related tasks including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or general site preparation as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

  • Proven experience in roofing, construction, or related trades such as carpentry or masonry
  • Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and fabrication processes
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised machinery
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications accurately
  • Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and working at heights in all weather conditions
  • Familiarity with safety procedures specific to roofing work including working on ladders or scaffolding
  • Basic understanding of plumbing or masonry is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid relevant certifications or licences are preferred but not mandatory
