We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Nursery Manager to join and lead our farm-based nursery, set in beautiful surroundings. This is more than just a nursery—it’s a place where children thrive through connection with animals, nature, and the great outdoors.
About Us:
Our setting offers children the opportunity to explore and learn in a farm environment, surrounded by open fields, animals, and riverside walks. We believe in hands-on, play-based learning inspired by the seasons and the natural world.
The Role:
As Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the setting, leading a passionate team to deliver outstanding early years education in line with EYFS, while embracing the unique opportunities a farm setting provides.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a large team of early years practitioners in a farm a setting.
- Ensure the highest standards of care, safety, and learning outcomes for all children.
- Build a strong ethos around outdoor learning, sustainability, and animal care.
- Manage occupancy, staffing, resources, and budgets efficiently.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with families and the wider rural community.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted, EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety regulations.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum Level 3 in Early Years Education (Level 5 or higher preferred).
- At least 2 years in a management role within an early years setting.
- A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and outdoor learning approaches.
- A genuine passion for nature-based education, animals, and the countryside.
- Confident leadership skills with a nurturing, hands-on approach.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a Forest School, farm school, or outdoor nursery setting.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of eco-education or sustainability practices in early years.
