We are delighted to be working in partnership with a long-standing who are looking to recruit an experienced HR Advisor to join them on a full time, permanent basis.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced HR professional who offers experience at an advisory level and a background working within the legal sector or partnership environment. Your role will support the Senior HR Advisor & HR Manager in delivering a seamless service to colleagues across the business whilst assist the business in achieving its ambitions for growth and supporting the development of their people by delivering core HR services to the business.

This opportunity can based from either Edinburgh or Glasgow with occasional travel to each.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with recruitment agencies; drafting job descriptions and adverts; and participating in short listing and interviewing candidates
  • Manage graduate recruitment which will include attending law fairs; reviewing traineeship applications; reviewing summer student placement applications; and co-ordination of the traineeship programme and PEAT 2 training requirements
  • Provide support to the Partners - supporting the needs of trainees throughout their employment including carrying out quarterly reviews, managing seat moves and booking any training requirements on their behalf.
  • Peat 2 Training: liaising with supervisors and PEAT 2 co-ordinators, organising training, drafting relevant documentation required for training and submitting monthly reports to the Law Society of Scotland
  • Assist with development planning cycle and co-ordinating budgets; sourcing courses and overseeing the organisation of training courses; assist with the identification of high potential employees and development of succession planning
  • Co-ordinating the review and development of our rewards and benefits packages; co-ordinating reporting requirements for salary reviews
  • Complete research, review and update HR policies and procedures
  • Co-ordinate annual performance review process
  • Manage the annual employee survey including drafting relevant questions and communicating results
  • Assist with advice and support to Partners, Managers and Employees on grievance and disciplinary issues; manage flexible working application process; and monitoring absence
  • Provide reporting when required to the HR Manager
  • Assist with monthly payroll including checking figures and running relevant reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist with and or co-ordinate key HR projects

To be considered for this opportunity, our client does require the following experience /background:

  • Previous experience working within an HR department and managing a wide range of tasks
  • Background working at a HR Advisor level within the legal sector or a partnership owned organisation
  • Be able to build rapport and communicate positively across the business
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to think on your feet and use your initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised
  • Strong work ethic with high standards at all times
  • Ability to work under pressure and juggle a variety of tasks
  • Strong IT Skills and ability to use different systems including MS Office, Intranet
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to be flexible and proactive
