Job Title: Parts Advisor
Salary: £14.00 - £15.00 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Position Type: Permanent, Full Time

Purpose of the Role

The business specialises in sourcing, processing, and distributing quality used car parts, helping reduce waste and support sustainable automotive practices. The Parts Advisor is responsible for the supply, sale, and distribution of vehicle parts and accessories. The role ensures that customers—both internal and external—receive accurate information, timely assistance, and the correct parts for their needs. This position also supports the efficient operation of the workshop by coordinating parts availability, maintaining stock control, and upholding company standards and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The following are typical duties and are not exhaustive:

  • Handle phone-based sales, including incoming scrap line enquiries.
  • Provide counter sales services and assist customers in person.
  • Organise and prepare parts efficiently for work orders.
  • Maintain and restock the parts inventory to ensure consistent availability.
  • Respond to customer enquiries via email and social media platforms.
  • Support basic administrative tasks such as order entry and maintaining records.
  • Assist the workshop by ensuring timely provision of required parts.
  • Awareness of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) procedures and legislative requirements.

Essential

  • Professional and well-presented approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Ability to handle customer interactions with diplomacy and sensitivity
  • Competent in using computers and basic software tools.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to attend training and essential courses to develop skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative.

Relevant Experience

  • Experience in parts, retail, automotive, or customer service environments.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with parts catalogues, ordering systems, or dealership/stock management software.

Must have own transport due to the location.
