Forever Education is working with a specialist Primary SEND School based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Our client is seeking a Senco to join them from January 2026 on a permanent basis (Employed directly by the school)
You will support and promote an inclusive culture throughout the school, enabling all children to achieve their best, overcoming barriers to learning and participation. The SENCO / Pupil Champion & / Inclusion Manager holds a very important strategic role in the Senior Leadership Team of the school. It entails co-ordinating appropriate provision for children with special needs and liaising with colleagues, parents/carers and outside agencies. Responsibility for the school’s attendance strategy is also part of the post. The role also includes overseeing the provision and tracking progress for all pupils across school.
It is expected that the post holder will have the NPQ SENCO or be working towards this qualification.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and regularly update the school’s SEND policy in line with statutory requirements.
- Lead the strategic direction and development of SEND provision across the school.
- Advise senior leaders on resource allocation for SEND and contribute to whole-school improvement planning.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, high expectations, and equal opportunities for all learners.
- Coordinate the identification and assessment of pupils with SEND.
- Oversee screening, diagnostic assessments, and referrals to external specialists.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date SEND register.
Key Experience & Knowledge:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it within required timeframe).
- In-depth knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Salary:
