Full job description

Located In Bury St Edmunds

We’re looking for a full-time coach to join our growing team at Eventus22.

This isn’t a casual gym job. We’re building a premium coaching business with ambitious growth plans across Suffolk and more importantly, we’re building a place where people genuinely feel supported, challenged, and proud of what they’re achieving.

We want someone who cares deeply about people, brings great energy into a room, and takes pride in doing things properly. Someone who wants a long-term career, not just their next role.

Some coaching experience is helpful, but not essential. If you’ve got the right attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn, we’ll develop you in-house.

We already have a brilliant team and a strong community. Now we’re looking for the next great addition.

Eventus22 isn’t a typical gym and we’re not looking for typical people.

Personality matters here but standards matter more.

Our members expect consistency, warmth, professionalism, and a genuinely great experience every time they walk through the door.

The Role

This is a full-time, on-site role based at our facility in Bury St Edmunds, working on a rota with the coaching team.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Coaching primarily personal training in small group sessions with members predominantly aged 50+, focusing on confidence, movement quality, long-term health, and great member experience
  • Delivering high-quality sessions to Eventus22 standards (full training provided)
  • Supporting members outside of sessions with care, accountability, and encouragement
  • Bringing positive energy, professionalism, and organisation onto the gym floor
  • Working early mornings and evenings as part of the rota
  • Supporting team cover for holidays and sickness when needed
  • Helping with member events, workshops, and community activities
  • Following our systems so members receive a consistently great experience

This role includes a mix of early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends depending on events and team cover.

Commitment & Focus

This role requires full professional commitment.
If you currently have a side venture or freelance work, that’s not necessarily a problem - but you must be willing to prioritise this role and ensure there is no conflict of interest.

We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with the business, not split their focus across multiple directions.

Who This Role Suits

You’ll likely thrive here if you:

  • Genuinely enjoy working with adults aged 50+ and take pride in helping people feel confident, capable, and supported
  • Care deeply about helping people improve their quality of life
  • Hold yourself to high standards and take pride in your work
  • Are reliable, organised, and open to being coached
  • Enjoy being part of a close-knit, supportive team
  • Bring positive energy and care into everything you do
  • Want long-term development and progression

Success in this role looks like consistently delivering great sessions, building strong relationships with members, taking ownership, and becoming a trusted part of the coaching team.

This environment won’t suit rigid or old-school coaching styles. An open mind and willingness to learn are essential.

Career Progression

As Eventus22 continues to grow, there is genuine opportunity to progress into Senior Coach or Head Coach roles and take on greater responsibility.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: £26,500 – £34,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Benefits include:

  • Paid holiday
  • Sick pay
  • Pension
  • Ongoing CPD and development

You’ll need a relevant fitness qualification and the right to work in the UK.

How to Apply

To apply, please send:

  • Your CV
  • A short video application (2–3 minutes is ideal)

Send to: james@eventus22.fit

If your application is successful, you’ll hear from us within 24–48 hours and be invited to an in-person interview.

If you’re not familiar with Eventus22 yet, take a look at what we do before applying, we’re proud of our culture and the people we serve, and we’re selective about who joins the team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £26,500.00-£34,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • On-site gym
  • On-site parking
  • Sick pay

Application question(s):

Licence/Certification:

  • Level 2 or 3 Personal Training qualification or equivalent (required)
