Are you enthusiastic about contributing to a forward-thinking higher education institution? Is your passion for student success at the core of your professional drive? At the University of Sunderland in London (UoSiL), we are dedicated to prioritising student experience, customer service, academic quality, value for money, and continuous improvement. And now we have an exciting opportunity to join us as Visitor Services Associate.
ABOUT US
The University of Sunderland in London, based at Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves as an innovative satellite campus and are constantly evolving and have exciting plans for 2026 and beyond!
We are currently piloting a four-day working week which allows our colleagues to work 32 hours over 4 days week with no reduction in pay. The pilot is part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive and inclusive workplace that promotes work-life balance and allows our colleagues to thrive professionally and personally whilst maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality service to all our students.
In addition, we have moved to a modern campus building, offering a bright and spacious learning and working environment.
ABOUT THE TEAM
You’ll be joining a collaborative and passionate Student Support Team that works at the heart of our student community. We pride ourselves on being welcoming, responsive, and solution-focused, always striving to deliver outstanding service. Our team works closely together, sharing knowledge and ideas to continuously improve the support we offer. We partner with colleagues across the University to ensure students feel fully supported and connected, creating a culture where innovation and feedback drive everything we do.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Visitor Services Associate, you will be the welcoming face of our campus, creating a positive first impression for everyone who walks through our doors; students, staff, and guests alike. This is a dynamic, student-facing role where you’ll provide accurate information, helpful guidance, and a professional meet-and-greet service that reflects our commitment to excellence. From managing visitor flow and maintaining a safe, organised reception area to supporting building access and assisting with events, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our campus runs smoothly. Every interaction matters, and you’ll take pride in delivering a service that is proactive, approachable, and always student-centred.
ABOUT YOU
You will thrive in a busy, customer-focused environment and understand the importance of creating a welcoming experience. With strong communication skills and a calm, professional approach, you can handle queries confidently and resolve issues effectively even under pressure. You’re organised, reliable, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage records accurately and follow procedures to maintain security and compliance. Most importantly, you bring positivity, and a genuine commitment to excellent service, working collaboratively with colleagues to make every visitor feel valued and supported.
WE OFFER
- The opportunity to join a pilot of a pioneering 4-day-week (32 hours over 4 days)
- Excellent Defined Contribution Pension with additional benefits of life cover and income protection
- Generous annual leave and Christmas closure days on top of Bank Holidays
- Season Ticket Loan
