HMPasties is a Social Business and Award winning producer of high quality savoury baked goods. As a social business 25% of all our employees are former offenders. We manufacture a range of award winning pasties & pies, supplying premier league football teams with their match day pies.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the production team, which includes a Cook, Pastry Maker, Packer, 4-5 production operatives, as well as maintaining the due diligence records in line with our Food Safety Management System.

Job Title: Production Supervisor

Purpose of the position: To direct the activity of production to achieve safe & cost efficient production that meets our customer’s requirements whilst adhering to SALSA standards by driving performance against KPIs, developing and motivating the production team and proactively identifying and driving performance improvement activities in all aspects of production including cost reduction, materials, waste, H&S and quality.

You Will:

  • Be a role model for the HMP Values - embrace change and positively reinforce the need for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure acceptable performance standards met at internal and external audits.
  • Maintain team awareness of quality and food safety standards and procedures and ensure they operate to them.
  • Focus on hygiene standards, with effective scheduling of cleaning operations in each area.
  • Demand all Bakery operators take responsibility for CAYGO (Clean as you go) .
  • Never compromise on food safety.

You will have:

  • Minimum level 2 food hygiene certificate or equivalent.
  • Level 2 HACCP.
  • Knowledge of SALSA Food accreditation standards.
  • 5 years experience of running a busy food production operation.
  • A commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding organisational skills.
  • A can-do attitude & be prepared to take a hands on approach to problem solving when needed.
  • Be committed to supporting people with an offending history
  • A non-judgemental attitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 50.0 per week
